Happened to me once, hard reset the console then worked fine from then on...
Hard Reset = Unplug that brick's power supply

If this is not a common problem (I'm not sure if it is or not) and battery is charged then you could have problems with interference. Some things that cause interference are microwaves, the motors in refrigerators, vacuum cleaners, and cordless phones or baby monitors.

Unplugging the brick is retarded

All you do is hold the button on the console til it turns off...

Something is interfering with it.

What other electronics are in the same room, specifically ones that give off radio/microwaves.

I.e. move the console away from your router. Don't play next to the microwave.

mine does this sometimes

i just remove the battery back then turn it on again and it works
