Why don't you just get a headset of a tv. Small tvs are pretty cheap

I don't think there's a headphone jack on console and the usb wouldn't give audio.

check your monitor to see if it has a audio jack somewhere in the back or side, i plug my speaker into my monitor and get sound while playing xbox.

*Usually when your monitor has hdmi then there should be a audio jack somewhere

Also earbuds should work only problem is the sound might be really loud if you don't have volume setting on monitor/earbuds.
