It's the same for PSN. I've got one buddy who's been on all morning but I haven't been able to get on. They aren't capable of shutting down the entire network, they've just overloaded the servers for certain areas of service.

I don't see why they do this. imagine how many parents are buying there kids consoles then seeing it not working and wondering why it doesn't work. then returning it or whatever, we all know how non tech savvy last generation is.
