I bought the kids the xbox last year, doesn't say that it is a "slim" on the box

Does it matter, is there a difference for the normal black xbox and the slim xbox, when it comes to the hard drive?

Yes o. The original Xbox it mounts on the side... The slim plugs into the back and actually goes inside. Google what they look like and see which one u have
