so i forgot to kill golden knight dude (lautrec) who drops ring of favor and protection and 5 humanity

by the time i went back after the first bell he was gone

2 questions

1. when does he come back?
2. iirc you can get the fire keeper upgrades back? can you still kill him and get the ring?

should i restart? i only just rang the first bell, but i got really lucky with those white leech things, and i got a lot of decent drops.

just seems like hp/stam/load is worth restarting.
