It seems to have come and gone, which I just do not understand at all. Am I the only one that would buy and try games simply because of the coop split screen content? Yeah, most people have online gaming available at this point, but it's not the same. The reason I don't game much anymore is because I have nobody to play with as all my friends play cod and nothing else. Games like Borderlands and Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 were perfect. I don't even want to know how many hours I spent doing terrorist hunt with friends in split screen.

Anybody else have this complaint or are you content with online multiplayer being the focus?

I dont play with people online. I play single player or split screen with friends.

edit: I do play online "sometimes", but its only in private games with friends, when they cant come over for game parties.

I guess I've just been more drawn to having the other player on the same screen and system as myself. Just always seems to be more fun, but yeah private games can also be good depending on the game.

That has already become pretty apparent, but I'm more questioning why. I have never really met somebody that dislikes split screen gaming. So I'm wondering if its a shift for the developers or if it is what the community wants.

I love split screen gaming dont get that mixed up, infact ill be playing split screen on the new halo whenever i see my friend again.

Its obsolite because having a full screen on coop opose to half a screen on 1 tv is pretty lame. I liked d3s coop alot though. Theres a huge difference the quality of a game comes out much more on a full screen.

Always bothers me. That is one of my favorite parts of gaming.
I complain about this all the time. Split screen is pretty much the reason I enjoy consoles.
Couch co-op is always a selling point for me.
