Hey all just purchased a xbox one and have the headset but i cannot hear gameplay through the xbox one headset? is this not supported do i need to purchase another headset (Turtle beach or something like this)?
i've tried to look online for the answer but no one clearly states that this cannot be done??

the only sound i get is through my TV but as a gamer i like to play at night and since my family are asleep i always do not have it loud enough.

Any help would be appreciated and if someone could link me to someone that it explains why or if its correct in saying i cannot use the xbox one headset for sound that be helpful!

Regards

If by "headset" you mean this, then no you can not hear game sound out of it.

Just turn your tv down low like i do. When this headset breaks buy a wireless turtle beach.

If you are talking about the one you got in your box then no it doesn't do that. If you have another headset that you want to use you have to buy an adapter.

I would use either the following official xbox headset pictured below.

I would recommend the Polk audio headset if you can afford it, it costs twice as much though.

I would just buy the adapter directly from Microsoft and then use any headset you want.
