How do I hear game sounds through a headset on the X1? Can I just buy the stereo headset adapter (http://www.amazon.com/Xbox-One-Stereo-Headset-Adapter/dp/B00IAVDOS6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1395709051&sr=8-1&keywords=stereo+headset+adapter) and plug in some earbuds like the PS4 or is there more to it?

That's a possibility for when I wanted only game sounds. A bit annoying, but a solution nonetheless! I was just hoping for game sounds and chat together like the PS4 (nn fanboy shit posts) if possible since I'm normally in party chat with a buddy while gaming.

Yes the adapter will allow this but the ear buds will need a in-line mic like the ones for phones. You just won't get the same quality that you would out of a gaming headset.

Really the only wire you have on the one is the one to the WIRELESS REMOTE

Yeah, after looking into it further I saw this from majornelson: "Any 3.5mm stereo headset (that uses the CTIA plug standard) can get stereo game audio by plugging into the adapter" so I'm going to try my Sony Golds with the adapter. I have to find one now. I just drove to my local Walmart and they are out of stock.
