When you have your quick menu open by pressing up on the D-Pad. Hover over a spell and hold left on the D-Pad and it'll put a 1. by the name, hold right and it'll put a 2. by the name of a different thing. When you're in battle you can press left and quickly go to what you assigned without going into a menu at all, same for whatever you put on the right side.

Also, anyone know a merchant that sells a flawless ruby? I've been searching for one for about an hour now
