cool story man, go ahead and believe what you want, people are turned off by this idea, alot of people are

microsoft will lose money because of it, it's as simple as that

I had no intention of purchasing one anyway, microsoft makes alot of greedy moves and it was only natural it would come to something like this

only a mega nerd fanboy/delusional idiot would think what I'm saying wasn't the case

they're not going to lose business because of this idea

the success at launch will depend on the game lineup. if they pull a ps3.. the sales will be in the toilet

Ignore the facts and get wrapped up in the idiocy. People are complaining about it because they are ignorant and looking for something to complain about.

It sounds like you're a Sony fanboy who is looking for things to bitch about to fuel your immaturity. You are completely ignorant of the situation of internet access in the target market of consoles. You throw out the term "greedy" when you don't understand.

All the facts disprove what you're saying. 80% of people with PCs in the US have access to internet. Internet is available to 95%+ of the internet states. The vast majority of people (99.9%) in Microsoft's target audience have access to internet. Not a single tech analysts thinks this is a problem. It's idiots like you who think it's a problem. Adam Sessler talked about this awhile ago, he was asked if he thought it was a problem and he said "Of course it's not".

I am a huge Xbox fan and Sony hater at this point but i think you're wrong about not hurting their sales figures. This DRM along with the used games policy is going to ruffle a lot of feathers. Yes they will still likely sell tons, but but limiting it like this they are going to alienate some buyers.

Also if it is mostly about stopping piracy they should not need 24 hr auth. I'm sure most hackers use linked systems. They just need to monitor their own system better.

No, but they are still assuming a high speed internet access will be readily available. They have already stated they are throwing processing power into the cloud. If I can't load a 360p youtube video in a constant stream how will that work not to mentions the weeks I leave taking my Xbox to a place with no internet.

Go ahead and lie to yourself all you want. It is a flat out inconvenience.

but if you can play offline doesnt that mean the cloud thing isnt required...?

If you could play offline.

From what it sounds (and coming from someone who isn't in this field of work) it sounds like some games will either be more graphically intense based on the connection as if loading a video or some games will make it so you HAVE to be online.

from what that says every game will be able to handle it all on the console if it has to

and that the extra power added by the cloud is for physics and lighting (aesthetics)

Microsoft has confirmed that single-player games don't have to be online to work, but all this talk of cloud computing seems to suggest that these games might not look or perform as well if they don't have access to a high-speed connection.

Kind of sorta what I was thinking.

yeah the speculation

-makes great looking game
-can make it look better by using outside advantages

its not going to take a double GTX titan battlefield 3 and turn it in to wolfenstein 3D because the light beams are tilted the wrong way

Bottom line is I would rather have developers work with what they have not with what I have.
