God damn this is to funny, was never planning on getting xbox one any ways. If sony plays their cards right, they could own this console gen like they did with ps1/ps2. Back to the glory days.

>24 hour DRM
>1 hour DRM if not using home console
>No games rentals
>Used games determined by publisher, participating retailers only
>Can lend a game to a friend whom has been on your friends list for at least 30 days, and only once

24 authentication isn't a problem for 99.9% of potential customers. Like wise, a one hour check on a secondary console isn't either (It's the secondary console for a reason). Not sure where you live but in the US and Canada the rental games industry has been gone for about two years now.

Used games determined by the publisher is the exact same thing Sony is doing. The last is irrelevant, are you going to give a game to a friend who hasn't been on your list for more than 30 days? This prevents people from hacking your account and giving your games away.

Where do you live, Uzbekistan? Every single urban center has internet access. The majority of rural areas have internet access unless you're in the middle of nowhere. If you can't afford internet, you shouldn't be buying a console let alone worry about something like this.

Enough of you idiots thinking the year is 1993. It's 2013, internet access is so widespread this isn't close to a problem.

military and "special customers" have special accounts that dont need the 24h check

kids that just dropped $500 on a new console + games can most likely afford the $12.99 for cheap as fuck DSL

whats that you live in the middle of the bush and dont have wired high speed?
GOOD THING HUGHSNET IS THERE FOR $40/month

where I live is not in the middle of nowhere and I cannot get high speed internet where I live, and I'm not the only person in america who sees this problem, it's still hard to get high speed internet in many areas

for alot of people getting the console isn't the problem, but idiots like yourself obviously since you live in an area where it is readily available you just assume the rest of the world is just like where you live

here's the shocker, it's probably not a problem to maybe 80-90% of their potential customers, but still 10-20% and that's a huge margin of loss while sony/nintendo can just pick up the slack if they play their cards right

you and that xbox rep who got fired/stood down or whatever would be good buddies, delusional pricks

Clearly you live in the middle of no where. I have a cottage up where there is no major city around, and minor cities are far away. Yet I have access to high speed internet. Internet access in Canada is actually far less widespread than it is in the US. In Western/Central Europe and North America; the main customers, 99.9% of customers have access to the internet. It's not 80%, it's not 90%, it's 99.9%. More than 80% of Americans (With PCs) have internet in the US. The ones who don't have internet and have PCs tend to be the elderly or the very poor. The target market of the Xbox One will overwhelmingly have access to internet. The target market of the PS4 will overwhelmingly have access to internet.

Every tech analyst has said the 24 hour authentication is not a problem.

oh I see your logic

the "target audience" so that means I'm not a part of the "target audience" because internet is not available to me

so instead of acknowledging the people who cannot get internet, they just consider they don't exist

nice loophole microsoft, good job

I constantly bring my Xbox 360 to my parents farm, to our families cabin, and to other places like my brothers apartment. These places don't have internet not to mention the internet I have at my current location (not to mention most any location by here) is spotty at best.

The functionality of the Microsoft and Xbox One basing the large majority of their console off of a readily available internet connection is inconvenient at best; saying otherwise is the sound of denial.

Although most people do have an internet connection not all of those people have good ones. Places all of your faith in the Cloud is something I will not support.
