I'm not paying for their item because my money isn't going towards a better product. I'm not unique in these feelings.

If they want to be rewarded with more purchases then they will make a better product.

You wouldn't say one thing at all if they made it $100 a month? You wouldn't criticize them at all to anybody?

EA is making boatloads off of the sports titles with very little effort.  I don't see how you can be sympathetic for a major developer and publisher.

Game trading or buying/selling used has been around as long as gaming... and gaming has only continued to expand.  Something tells me they do just fine.  Online passes are just a way to abuse the community.  derpa

I know it works from a business perspective.  The point is why are you guys defending them for it when it doesn't help your situation AT ALL.  Is EA sending you a check for being a loyalist?



Rewarding people for buying new isn't the same thing.  They take away MP in some games if you buy used.  MP isn't a new concept... games had free MP in the past.


game stores make bucketloads off of used games cause they get 100% of the profit

cost should be passed onto the stores rather than the consumer in used games

Not really. They don't sell 100% of the used games they buy. Sometimes they'll buy it for $20 and it'll sit on the shelf until they have to sell it for less than they paid. Plus sometimes they get defective games... and you have to factor in them having to pay the workers there. (gamestop would be a much smaller store if it sold only new games.. and wouldn't need as many workers)

Costs really shouldn't be passed on to anybody lol. Used games are part of the community.. the devs should just be happy that the console pirating community isn't close to the PC one.

I seriously doubt that.

It's the same concept. You guys see $10 online pass as nothing but I see it as a significant change. I was using $100 a month to represent a significant change compared to your situations.

$10 online pass is to make up for the potential $59.99 they didnt make off of that copy
$100 is just for an online service
