ummmm, no it doesn't. thats what the display settings on the xbox is for.

I have like some wild mask from spain or something and I've just been draping belts and cords off of it for years, it's the only way it serves a purpose.

It's high definition and so long as you have the right settings it's ten fold better then SD. I have a second tv not pictured in this shot in my room and the two don't even compare.

They made the HDMI cable for a reason.
