The recon guns use the same bullets as 1/2 the other guns in the game. Even though Battlefield is known for realism it's still a game and a games fundamentals will break if there isn't balance.

And by the way all bolt action snipers do 100 damage in range and a drop to 50 out of range with the exception of the m95. If you play hardcore they are a 1 hit kill with Magnum Ammo.

actually yes it does matter, the multipliers in the chest arent high enough to 1hko at a long range, bullet damage on all the bolt actions besides the m95 drop to 50 damage. iirc.
