position has nothing to do with rrod. rrod is a cooling issue mostly on the gpu. the problem with standing the unit is that it scatches discs when its bumped.

Xbox 360 have horrible build quality. (1st and 2nd gen) i have seen first hand a brand new xbox played for roughly 1 hour out of the box and it got rrod.

Yeah doesn't surprise me. I just can't imagine the rage if it happened to me lol. Because i was so excited when i first got mine. I played for like 10 hours straight.

you've also got some extra cooling mods tongue.gif which helps
