Same.

Seeing as one of the MODS adds 27+ hours of content alone. (Falskaar)

Seeing as I stated multiple times that this was in Vanilla, not sure what your point is.

Omg you're so 'hardcore' you finished Skyrim in 37 hours.. And "not being a casual" what like actually playing the game exploring and shit? Yeah right. I bet you didn't even run to each quest, fast traveled every time you could. People that rush through games like this and then talk about how they are a god at gaming and how "easy" it was shouldn't even be called a gamer.

I don't even visit this section as I game on Playstation, but I saw your ridiculous claims and had to post. Let's see some proof of this 100% completion in every single category in 37 hours pal.

^ The only way I could possibly prove this would be by doing it again, which I don't intend to do. I had a $50 bet with two other co-workers on who could get 100% achievements first, winner take all (that was the last gaming bet we ever made, I had previously taken $100 of the guys in bets for Halo CE and Smash 64, they were done after this one). We both took the week off work, I finished first, the guy who was positive he would win came over, confirmed, and paid me (the other guy was like lvl 3 and had put 6 hours in, he was just terrible at gaming). 37 was my log time at completion. I made 3 additional characters (rouge/mage/battle mage) and completed the game on expert from the start later that year (rouge). The game wasn't exactly fun anymore, but I didn't have anything else to play at the time. I did fast travel as much as humanly possible, but if you actually played the game, you would know that for a rather large number of quests that accompany getting 100% score, you have to actually search the map. So yes, I spent a good amount of time exploring the map, be it as quick as possible, I still had the majority of the map scouted.

It's a good game, but it's not difficult and I just don't understand how people could spend such excessive amounts of time, and still be yearning to play another 100+ hours because it's got slightly improved graphics and some mods.... some of the mods I've played/seen are pretty dope, but not $60 dope when you could have done this years ago on PC for free.

Could care less what you or anyone else who wants to call me a liar thinks. I'm an above average gamer and I am a try-hard who does generally play to beat things as quickly and thoroughly as humanly possible, that's what I enjoy. I understand that's different then others, and I'm not saying that people who play games different then me are wrong. I just can't possibly imagine what people are doing when they've got a single file at over 100 or 200+ hours, there's just not that much stuff in the game to do, and as I said before, it gets incredibly boring when you just one hit everything and there's no more unique drops to find.

Edit - The only reason I threw in the casual comment was to rustle jimmies. It's obvious that anything I say in this topic is going to be bashed and that you, and everyone else, is just going to call me a liar because it took you longer to beat an easy game (seriously, give it a try. Go for just vanilla achievements from the start and see how fast you could do it. I'm sure my time isn't even good in comparison to other people trying for a fast time). I figured dropping such an idiotic phrase would be the fastest way to escalate this to the end.

Quick question though. You don't visit the section? But you took the time to come in and read a random thread about Skyrim and then felt the need to attack someone you don't know? Ya, that makes sense. I would think it'd be hard to comment or read threads in sections you don't visit... I mean, it's difficult for me to read threads of subs I don't visit, but I'm not a clairvoyant who's only ability is to sense posts that upset me.

I would like to apologize to anyone I might have offended with my comments. I didn't come in here with the intent of starting a fight or turning this into a dick measuring contest. I posted an opinion and some information regarding my experience with the game (whether you believe it or not is irrelevant to me. It's honestly not even that impressive of a time if you're straight trying for a speedrun from the start - Now my old FF runs, specifically FF7, those are straight ridiculous fucking times) and I just wanted to discuss the game and was hoping some of you could provide a little clarity on what exactly you've been doing on these files that are well over 100 hours. Had it been on PC playing with mods, I can easily see how you'd get to 100 hours with a single file and still have something worth while to fuck with. I was just stating my experience with the game and legitimately asking for an explanation of what you could possibly still be doing on xbox/ps versions of the game at well over 100 hours. It wasn't meant to be an insult or an attack on any of you, I was just curious.

No harm done.

It is a game you can finish fast, and also can exploit it and become so OP that it poses no challenge should you choose to do so.

I toyed with the smithing/enchanting/alchemy loop and it made me too much of a god, which was fun for a bit but got boring as well. Then I toned it down and just explored, and got lost in the escapism the game has. I must say it's one of the better sandbox games I've played. Oblivion was also great but could also be broken if you chose that path.

In all reality people can put 30 hours in and enjoy it, and also others can still be playing 1000 hours later and having fun. To me, that's a successful game.

I agree completely that the game is a success. It did exactly what I needed it to do and in total, I put probably 100 hours in. If I can get even 24 hours worth of playtime, I consider it $60 well spent. I never did break things with alchemy in any of the games (I dabbled with it, realized how horribly broken it was back in Morrowind and never fucked with it again). Enchanting/Smithing are pretty broken in Skyrim and I certainly used that as much as possible once I got my smithing/enchanting maxed out. Same goes for Morrowind, constant effect enchantments made the game easy, but also let you do some pretty amusing stuff. I started a new game about a week ago and did the Daedric tower shield+an exquisite amulet with HP gen (13-14 HP/second), threw on an exquisite ring with restore fatigue (24-25 FT/second) - since I finished that, I've been finding mobs of 3-4 people in mostly shrines that I just let attack me for 10-15 minutes at a time to level up my medium/light/heavy and unarmored all at the same time. I also made a ring with constant effect invis, just so I don't get bothered by the fucking cliff racers when I'm running to an objective. I loved how vast the customization options were in all of the ES games.

Some of the issues I have with Skyrim are the same issues with Oblivion. Every dungeon feels the same, it's lame that you can't find any awesome gear until you grind levels, and the lack of unique/amazing items that can just be found/stolen in all sorts of random areas that you'd never think to look. It forced me to comb every single inch of the map, something I just didn't feel Skyrim/Oblivion did that for me after I had found all the Daedric shrines.

It is a great game and I'm not bashing on it or anything. Was really just curious what everyone is doing in the game once they're so far. Maybe I just have a short attention span, but I just got bored of the dungeon raiding when I knew there was no possibility of a gear upgrade in them.

For pc, no, not really. Graphics update, lighting, God rays, and few minor tweaks to the vanilla game.

For consoles, yes, same as above but also added mod support. Falskaar alone (one of the 100+ available mods for xbox one) adds a ton of new stuff to enjoy.

For reference: The mod Falskaar is one of the biggest mods created for Skyrim. As such its features are extensive and include 20-30 hours worth of gameplay and adds an entirely new worldspace to the game. Falskaar features the story of The Traveler, who is a figure from ancient prophecy and the player character. The mod contains a main quest line which is 9 quests long, along with 17 side quests.
