Still soooo early on but cant decide what to be. made all 3 of the different types and cant tell which i want to spend all my time leveling. I usually like magic shit like the warlock, but the big vortex bomb LB + RB is harder to aim than I'd like.

Is it all personal preference or is there a 'best' class as you get way higher?

I cant tell you if there is a best class, But I use a humter and I like it

If you can play it right, warlocks have the distinct advantage right now

A higher level character will not do more damage than a lower level character with weapons
Weapon damages are leveled out and normalized

Even if the higher level character has a weapon that has 2 damage bonus upgrades on the weapon
The bonus damage upgrade only increase attack power/rating which only applies to monsters/PvE and does NOT increase IMPACT damage

So a rifle that takes 8 shots to kill does not turn into a rifle that takes 4-5 shots to kill after upgrading 2 damage bonuses on the weapon

While there are weapons that have higher impact than another of the same class, the firing rate is usually slowed to compensate
Even with this the damage is still within range of a weapon with a higher fire rate and lower damage

All weapon damage is normalized

The only advantages that a higher level has over a lower level character is the passives they unlocked through progression and the armor bonuses

You can never 4-5 shot a character no matter how high your level is or how low their level is unless you get complete headshots with a hand cannon or POSSIBLY a scout rifle

Have already tested this with friends as we wanted to see how it worked and have also looked it up

Okay so I'm level 13 and I'm confused about multiplayer crucible. Is it really unbalanced versing lvl 20s? Or do they balance it at all? I usually end up doing poorly against a lot of high levels and I'm confused how it works in terms of gears/stats/lvls. Is it truly unbalanced in terms of lvl difference?

Just read your post above me and it seems you've answered my questions lol. Sorry I should've read it before posting. On phone so its difficult to read lmao.

Higher levels do have advantages over a lower level character but not in terms of weapon damage
They have more passives, abilities and upgrades unlocked and have access do more variety of weapons(variable reload speed, faster sights, etc)
They will most likely be faster, jump higher and faster, and have stronger melee hits

Thanks. And what's the best way to level in terms of gear and levels? Also, how do you gain crucible marks?

Debating if I should buy destiny or wait. What do you all think? I heard it's a lot of grinding like d3 just to get good gear so you can win in multiplayer. Or is it a more casual game I can play 1-2 times a week?

I don't think its grinding. You do missions in single player which are all different and can get gear from those to even use in multiplayer. Also a casual game imo
