You need to press start, go in rosters, and invite to fireteam.

I haven't personally had a problem with it, just had to make sure all my NAT settings were correct.

Destiny has one of the better ingane chat / friend systems. Which fucks with the actual party system microsoft provides. Cant believe they never fixed this

Yep, I just use game chat. Party stuff is always broken on xbox Live.

They even knew about this during the beta but never actually fixed it.

Only way to fix destiny vs party glitches is to restart the game
