investment does not by any means equate to success

many similar "technological breakthroughs" have been hugely overfunded and flopped, or been a huge success in a flash-in-the-pan sense

Of course not. I'm just trying to think of things fb and Google have invested in that flopped.

You are doing it wrong. You were supposed to post this in the Sony sub.

I'm am hoping around this holiday the Xbox One S gets a good deal that I can snag.

Nah, I'm not ysobad. Rather post here since it's about Microsoft successes recently with the Xbox brand, with a caveat that Sony is dragging their feet.

I would love to grab a one S but no real reason, no 4k tv yet, waiting for next year for the tech to be more mainstream, kinks to get worked out, content to catch up, prices to fall, and ultimately grab scorpio to play with. Next black Friday is where it seems like I'll invest a chunk of my annual bonus.

Until then I'm happy with my one and still have 2x 360s I let my kids mess around with.

Sony could persuade me to switch sides as I've owned both over the years and they each have pros and cons. Right now xbox does more for what I want and need, and that goes a long way with me, more than a few more fps or jrpg exclusives.
