Then your in the minority of how people spend there money, which isn't a bad thing. Its just the way consumers are in general. If 10 of your buddies have a playstation,and 1 has an xbox your probably getting a playstation. If 10 of your buddies are going to burger king and 1 is going to mcdonalds,your probably going to burger king. If 10 ppl are going to see Star Wars and 1 person is going to see Star Trek,your probably going to see Star Wars. That's just the way consumers are. Hell I bought a 360 because a bunch of my buddies had one and played Call of Duty 4 on it together. Had nothing to do with Halo or Gears or anything

Your entitled to your opinion and you are probably right,they do have a more diverse lineup. Xbox has been very shooter centric in the past but to say it still is would be stretching the truth a bit and you cant deny the games lineup that Xbox is putting out this year/holiday compared to PlayStation. Halo,Rise Of the Tomb Raider (sorry but it is an exclusive for a year so you gotta count it),Gears remastered,Rare Replay compared to I think nothing from playstation? Its honestly not that great of a lineup of exclusives but its the best lineup of the holiday. I think next year will be the most important year for both companies. I would actually give the edge to Xbox next year as well,if everything comes out like its supposed to,which almost never does.

Looking at those lists,next year will be a huge year for both consoles,and you cant say that the Xbox lineup is a shooter lineup either. I think whoever can build off those new IP's the best will be better off in the long run

Ive explained all of this in other posts,usually the first thing that comes out is what people gravitate towards because its the big new thing.Everyone had to get there hands on a playstation 2 because it was the hot thing at the time and the first to really hit the market.Yes the dreamcast came out before it but it was a failure.Then the 360 came out before the ps3.It was the new,hot tech of the time that everyone had to get. This is the first console cycle where its been fairly close release dates.Playstation came out first so it got some sales that the Xbox would have got if it came out first,but it was such a close gap that it wouldn't have been that many. The gaming industry is starting to get old enough that parents will dictate what their kids get into as well. I own a 360 and a One and will own the next generation of consoles as well.When I have kids chances are they are gonna want to have and play an Xbox over a playstation simply because its what I like and they grew up with.Just like your kids would grow up with a playstation. Its the same with Star Wars,all kinds of kids are going to go see Star wars next month because there parents or brother or uncle got them into it and it will be the "IT" thing to do.

In the world of tech being the new big,it thing is so key to start your consumer base and then you build from word of mouth as best you can.

So by that logic Wii U should have done well.
