What is there to do for "dedicated" players? I'd love for you or anyone to elaborate on that. The raids are a joke, the story is a joke and PvP is the worst of them all. The game died for me the day they decided to make it so hand cannons were the most viable weapon and using anything else (with the exception of a few pulse rifles) put you at an insane disadvantage. That's Bungie logic though, lets nerf the fuck out of everything except the easiest to use weapon, that'll add some great balance to the game. Seriously, since the change, while using an HC, I have not had a game with a lower k/d than 3.5 and that was when I was out of practice, I hadn't played in 2 or 3 months and I was still going 25/7 or better every game using an HC. To beat someone using an HC with an AR, get first shot, aim perfect (All head shots or 1-2 body if they miss twice) and you had to hope they missed once, if they don't miss, it's impossible to win, even if you shot first lol. That's just broken. I was still going positive most of the time, had a couple of .9 games with the AR but it was funny how obviously better I was than everyone I was fighting, most of the time with them missing 1-2 shots and me still escaping with only a sliver of life while I was aiming perfect. It's a joke, anyone who thinks otherwise should throw their xbox/ps4 out the window and find a new hobby. You can still play the game, just don't lie to yourself about it.
The game isn't fun for dedicated players, the game isn't fun for casual players, the game is fun people who are bad at gaming but want to feel like they're good at something. Bungie has done nothing but cater to bad players since this game launched, it's pathetic and Bungie should be boycotted for this shit. I know they're capable of making something amazing, it's just not going to happen when they're setting records by having so many dumbshits feeding them $30-$60 for every 20 minutes of content they add.
Raid resets for three characters - maximum rewards and fun playing with friends.
PVP is lacking in departments atm solely on the overuse of Thorn and blink/shotgun. They're nerfing it though.
Trials of Osiris is a competitive game mode which is a lot of fun, me and a friend have carried around 45 or so people to the lighthouse the past 2 weeks for their rewards.
It's a decent community too. There aren't as many young kids as you would think, and the ones I have ran into are surprisingly mature.
Also, for the truly dedicated PVPers, sweaties are the newest game mode where two premade teams of 3 match up in a skirmish with eachother and have a set rule-list to go by. It's the top notch players playing against each other, and it's very fun.
If you don't enjoy the game, you don't have to play it, nobody is forcing you to. But to say that a game that has weekly resets and daily bounties (boring as the bounties may be) doesn't reward dedicated players is just false.
