The fps play style with high shields and the ability to react to being shot at is similar to that of halo and the matchmaking had a very halo feel with a nice twist as you get some special abilities.

Story-wise it is also very comparable to halo. Hive=flood, forget other alien race=covanant

The big difference is the open world mmo part which I agree is a huge difference, but it does have a more halo feel than a call of duty or other fps game feel. I hope that makes sense?

All that said, the beta was awesome and I couldn't put it down and I only had a small portion of the game to play with. From what I played during the beta this game is already possibly the best game I have ever played. Anyone on the fence I highly recommend it if you like fps and open world rpgs. I am not even worried about it living up to the hype because as far as I am concerned it already has.

The only simularity is the shields thats it.

Everything from the camera turning to aiming down sights. This game feels and plays nothing like halo. I played both the closed and open beta. While it had me interested for the few missions it gave i struggled to deal with the horrible aiming crap. Nothing like cods aiming either. The music didnt even fit in with the combat during missions, halos does.

The pvp multiplayer was one of the most unbalanced overhyped shit ive ever seen. Even more so than titanfall. Absolute garbage nothing not even a smidge of halo was in it.

Bottom line is this game will most likely be on the hype train for the first weak. Then end up like titanfall down the line. Maybe not nearly as fast but it will. And the fact is sony ponies will still have yet to taste the real xb1 exclusive that sets the foundries for fps multiplayer games. That and battlefield.

No it has a borderlands feel, so it doesn't make sense. Game plays exactly like borderlands. Don't think you've played much Halo. Maybe watched some.

I don't remember when Halo got campaign leveling and skills. Perhaps you can inform me when?

yeah and if halo had leveling, skills, and gear it would be...pretty much this game. Not going to lie i never played borderlands so i cant speak fully to that extent but a lot of people have said its similar and it seems so im not disagreeing with you, but telling someone it is nothing like halo isn't exactly true. The actual first person shooter elements of the game are pretty similar to halo, at least in my opinion and a number of other people agree with me. Its bungie its expected.

Really? I wasn't aware that Halo had Aiming Down Sight/Iron sights or automatic rifles that look like M4/M16.

And you can't argue that "if Halo had leveling..." because it doesn't and that's not the only thing dissimilar here.

Again most of the Halo people that created Halo have either already left the company at an earlier time or stayed on with 343 to keep making Halo. You have a new Bungie culture and it's not at all to be expected.

If you haven't played Borderlands, then you shouldn't waste time arguing. It is the game most similar to Destiny. It can't really be disputed unless you're going to continue to blindly spew out information like one of the Sony Ponies that comes in here: FPS w/ ADS, Class Selection, RPG leveling, Co-op Based, Loot intensive, Offensive Action Skills, Custom Grenades and Weaponry. None of these things appear in Halo, they are all in BL and Destiny.

Go play BL and you know exactly what I'm saying. The movement in Destiny is practically a copy/paste from it.

I still never said that BL wasn't the most similar or anything like that so I don't understand why you are so strongly arguing something that I agree with you on.

I said this game does have some similarities to halo specifically in the story and your ghost companion. Also the physics and movement kinda reminded me of halo, with the exaggerated gravity and not dieing in matchmaking instantly when shot. Not to mention have you looked at any of vehicles?

To sit here and say this game is 0% similar to halo is not accurate, otherwise a number of people wouldn't have made that connection.
