Uhhh yes. A/V + hi-fi is my hobby and I've auditioned set-ups worth more than your house. Including the greatest home cinema in Norway (Watched Transformers 1 there) ^^

And as far as I can tell by this thread, my speaker setup + headphones blows any one elses off the water. By a wide margin.

Oh and I got invited to one of the best home cinemas in Norway, not sure how it ranks but he's got some pretty expensive equipment and his $10K projector has been calibrated by Norway's finest calibrator (founder of AVforum)

Not to mention when I win the lottery I'm going to be an owner of the world's finest cinema --- Sony 4KHD & Snell THX 12.12 channel sound system

May I ask what is you speaker/headphone set up?
I find that it is pretty arrogant claiming that you know more about audio than anyone else on the forum. What makes you think that?

Bowers & Wilkins DM685 bookshelf speakers:bang for buck speakers of the year 2008
KEF KHT3005 5.1 : Multi award winning speaker package, an absolute legend.
Denon AVR1911 receiver: midrange receiver of the year 2010
AKG K702 "Premium Class Reference Headphones" : Possibly best headphones under $1300?
top of the line Denon AH-D5000 headphones : some of the deepest bass in the industry, high up there with the best headphones ever made.

Pretty sure I posted that with my PICs AND I have it posted in my sig.

Hum...
Proac D18 towers
Naim nait 5i (second generation)

for headphones
Headphone amp : Matrix m-stage
Grado Sr-225
Sennheiser Hd-650
Shure se-535 (portable use)

I don't know why, but I'm under the impression that my audio gear would blow out of the water yours. (Except maybe the heaphones part, which may be on par, depending on your taste)

Oh by the way, I'm also 18 years old, and at university full time.

Also, you have a pretty nice sytem though.. and I only have stereo but my system is mostly for music.

Okay ^^ my dad has a B&W Nautilus 801 with a Mark Levinson CD player and Mark Levinson DAC, ROTEL receiver and monoblock Bryston amplifiers which was the home cinema setup I grew up with until I moved out with my mum.. Never really cared about a/v hardware until about a year ago, so I'm trying to recreate the standard I grew up with... Without a job :(

Edit: yes your speakers are bigger and more expensive than mine. Nice headphone collection too.

Hehe, I worked a lot during pre-university, but I don't work anymore during studies so I'll have to wait summer for an upgrade (my source). I'll probably post a picture of my system soon, when I'll get a new camera. (Probably a Nikon D90).

I don't know yet. I'll probably buy an entry level turntable such as technic sl1200 or Rega RP3 and see how much I live vinyl sound compared to digital.
As for the dac, I only have USB out and it's really rare to find a dac with a good usb port. The rega DAC seems nice for its price, but I'll probably have to buy a USB to Optical connector to unlock the full potential of it.
