Last year 56% of all video game sales were digital compared to 44% physical. In September of this year digital sales on Sony and Microsoft combined was 500 million dollars. If that was only AAA games,which it obviously isn't then that would be over 8 million copies of games sold at retail. Lets trim that even in half to account for indies and all of that and say that 4 million copies of retail games were sold digitally. If Gears had been released in September when the numbers are even lower compared to October you don't think Gears of war would be even 10% of that 4 million?
yeah there are a shit town more downloadable only games then retail on top of all retail games having a download choice, again id wanna sony or m$ say generally this is how the split looks and go from that
