Lol today my 7 year old son learned that the world isn't so friendly.

Someone told him to drop his inventory and they would give him Legendaries.

Both parties dropped and then they kicked him out of the game, poor boy is so sad.

I told him he has yet to experience losses, ARK: Survival Evolved has taught me this more than anything.

Can anyone else relate?

I don't get this game but my kids and all his friends spend most of the time yelling at each other over who stole what and knocked who down...

Yeah lol bunch of little kids on there, all trying to rip each other off. The D2 community tries to help each other out for the most part.

This is just what happens when any game becomes SUPER popular. Games get out of control and there huge numbers are bolstered by the millions of impressionable children out there who will play w/e they're told to by the streamers they watch. Most kids are toxic, must of us were toxic as children, that's just the way it is. Could you imagine how toxic D2 would have been if there were 10+ million players online at all times? Scammers were rampant in the early days of D2 and LoD. Hell, people doing the wall tricks, getting you to download item droppers, tele wall tricks, trust scams etc... It was a brutal environment for the young or naive. I was a kid when I started playing D2, and I learned the hard way a couple of times to never trust anyone.

With mass popularity comes toxicity, one can not exist without the other. It's sustained by the simple mechanics and dumbed down gameplay that allows for 7-10 year old players to feel like they're doing moderately well, as opposed to other online experiences with less forgiving matchmaking where getting slaughtered relentlessly leads to casuals, baddies, and kids quitting after short periods of time. Of course there are always people who genuinely don't mind being terrible, but these people are not the norm for gamers, and if it wasn't for the actual game being dumbed down to the point where little kids can enjoy it, people wouldn't be seeing these levels of toxicity. Then again, it wouldn't be even close to as popular as it is in sheer numbers if it wasn't dumbed down as much as it is.

It's fantastic for the company, and maybe now that they've made dump trucks full of cash, they'll be able to launch a game with some heart to it. I personally won't be wasting another second on this steaming pile of mediocrity.

Yeah I played this game when it first came out, beat all the different modes with friends, and now I won't even start the game up. I'd rather play PUBG than Fortnite, but my son is all about some Fortnite, except yesterday when he lost everything, he was so mad and said he's never playing again, i'm sure he will soon though.

Having an Xbox One for some time now, i'm actually glad I went back to Diablo 2, so much better.

Noy even a fan of pugb. I don't need immediate results. I like building towards something. Pubg and fortnite are just mind numbing and boring.

Tis why I returned to Diablo 2 lol, this post was only for people to discuss similar events that happened to them, because my son discovered scamming for the first time yesterday when it happened to him.
