So I'm in the market for a headset w/ mic for the xbox one. I want something that allows me to hear the game through the headset as well so I don't wake my roommate/neighbors.

So far I'm thinking about this:

I have had good experiences with the cheaper turtle bays too but a lot of people on these forums haven't. I think they are pretty good though.

Yeah I've heard a lot of negative reviews about turtle beach headsets in the past. I haven't worn a pair in the better half of a decade so I'm curious to see if they've gotten their act together. Open to more suggestions. If nothing else, I'll just opt for a cheap pair of the MS ones from amazon since it's only for night gaming.

I have the TB X1s. Pretty good and a pretty big upgrade over the X12s from the 360 in terms of wiring

Yes Astro A40s are amazing.

Do not get those.. Buy Earforce x12 with a 7.1 DSS processor. Chat adapter also required. Can easily get all for under $60. Worth the extra money for the surround sound.

I absolutely love my microsoft ones just like what you have in your link. The nice thing is that it also comes with the chat adapter so you're good to go out of the box. The wife and i both have a set, they work great. they play the sound through just like beaches as well, i even use mine while working out with no problems.
