I've been looking to get this game after hearing the hype of the first one and demon souls. Should I get and play dark souls 1 first, before I buy the second?

I would pick up DaS1 for like 10 dollars used and play through it. By then maybe DaS2 will drop in price by then. Also by then you will be used to the universal controls and combat system.
