Lets assume evertying is perfect
Grief + Grief
-With adding no strength to your barb, you should have about 190 with a good bvc build
- Each Grief Adds +400 damage
- 40/15Max jewel in arreats = 40% ed + 15 maximum damage
- 37x 3max damage scs = 111 = 55.5 average
- Lvl 32 WW (what most bvc's have) = 198% Ed
- 163 % ed from Axe mastery (average for a bvc)
Formula for weapon damage: 15% ED Zerker = 27-81 = 54 average damage + 800 damage + 15 max (7.5 average) + 55.5 (from scs) = 917 average
Formula for total damage: 854 x (1 + 1.9 + .4 + 1.98 + 1.63) = 6.91 ::: total damage = 6,336 physical damage per axe. This is reduced 1/6th for pvp = 1056
Grief + Beast
- With adding no strength to your barb, you should have about 230 strength with a good bvc build
- 400 damage from grief
- Lvl 9 Fantacism aura = 186% damage
- Lvl 32 WW (what most bvc's have) = 198% Ed
- 163 % ed from Axe mastery (average for a bvc)
- 40/15Max jewel in arreats = 40% ed + 15 maximum damage
Formula for weapon damage [Grief]: 15% ED Zerker = 27-81 = 54 average damage + 400 damage + 15max (7.5 average) + 55.5 (from scs) = 517 average
Formula for weapon damage [Beast]: 15% ED Perfect Beast = 104-312 = 208 average damage + 400 damage + 15max (7.5 average) + 55.5 (from scs) = 671 average
Formula for total damage [Grief]: 517 x (1 + 2.3 + .4 + 1.86 + 1.98 + 1.63) = 9.17 ::: total damage = 4740 pysical. This is reduced 1/6th for pvp = 790
Formula for total damage [Beast]: 671 x (1 + 2.3 + .4 + 1.86 + 1.98 + 1.63) = 9.17 ::: total damage = 6153 physical. This is reduced 1/6th for pvp = 1026
Heres some reasons why IMO Grief + Grief is better:
- As you can tell the damage of the Grief + Grief is obviously higher than the Beast + Grief. No matter which axe hits, you will be doing more damage per hit.
- If you use skiller gcs like Bcombats instead of Max dmg charms or you use fortitude for BvB the damage of the Grief + Grief increased alot more than Grief + Beast (because you have more damage with griefs)
- The Ias on the fantacism does not effect whirlwind
- If a member of your party is using fantacism, you only get the higher level of fantacism, giving Grief + Grief even more advantage over the beast build because the beast auras dont stack
- If you are using poison damage instead of Max Damage the Grief + Grief damage is increased even more over the Grief + Beast build, plus you get 50% added poison damage
Opposition:
- Beast does give 20% Crushing blow and 20% Open Wounds which have little effect in pvp, but are useful
- You get 80% attack rating from fantacism (Beast) which is mediocre but does help
Choose whichever you want, just something to think about that Grief + Grief may be better for some of you bvc's ^^
