Multiply the def by 1.5 to get the defense when glitched. And you seriously think I'm going to pay 25fg for an item that has a 3/4 chance of turning into a worthless piece of crap? Like JS said, 5fg is overpay for any armor that's not even glitched yet.

nty its 691 and i was told 680+=1kdef glitched

I dunno who told you 680 = 1k def but whoever did doesnt know math.

Plus Im willing to bet no one told you anything in the first place else you wouldnt be posting a thread asking this very exact question.

IF the laquered plate had 500 base def to start, It would get a 250 bonus from being ETH ( 750) and another 250 for being glitched = 1k.

Thus you need a 750+ def eth armor to glitch to 1k. Yours is 691. Nuff said.

actually, the game rolls between 1-6 sockets regardless of the number of sockets that the item MIGHT have. in the case of a 4socket max item, that translates into a 50% chance of 4 (a roll of 4,5, or 6 sockets), and a 1 in 6 chance of getting 1, 2, or 3 sockets smile.gif

Yeah, if the non-eth def is 500, then eth would multiply by 1.5 to get 750. Then glitching it would multiply the def of the eth item (750) by 1.5 to get the glitched def. So, that would be 1125.

And Suus, the max roll isn't 6, the max roll for each item is that items max number of sockets. Laquered Plates can have a max of 4 sockets, 5 and 6 aren't considered, and each number 1, 2, 3, 4 have a 1/4 chance of occuring.

I yhink this discussion is polluting the topic though. Or maybe not. Whatever smile.gif

Edit: I checked again and it turns out I'm not exactly correct, but for this item the max is still 4. From Arreat Summit:
1 Tal Rune + 1 Thul Rune + 1 Perfect Topaz + Normal Body Armor = Socketed Body Armor of same type
The number of sockets created will vary. The item must be normal and unsocketed. Low-quality items and superior items do not work. The item gets 1-4 sockets, randomly. However, the number of sockets is then restricted by the maximum number of sockets that base item with that ilvl can have. The chance to get X sockets in most armor is 1/4 (I.E: Mage plate has a max of 3 sockets, so it has a 2/4 [1/2] chance to get 3 sockets). The base of 6 was used in the ratios for all the above mentioned areas.
