Hello, I go to Japan in April and I would like to know the good plans to buy vinyl of funk and the best districts has to visit (not forcing at the level music, but video games, high tec etc.). I would also like to know for the understanding so it's hellish. Because we say to me that most of the Japanese do not speak or do not want, thus forcing the language of the gesture but we cannot explain everything with gestures. To stroll also, at the level of the subway and train if it is not too hard has to find the good lines if we have any notion of put Japanese has part some words / sentences which we find in mangas.

To be honest, I could barely understand what you wrote here, so I wouldn't hold my breath for being understood in Japan.

I suggest learning at least a few phrases and getting a decent dictionary. Most people there are really understanding and will help you, especially if you can throw together a simple Japanese sentence explaining what you want etc. Like the poster above said, most people in major cities know at least a few English words, so you should be able to communicate reasonably well.

I go has Tokyo, and then normally I would make a bend by Kyoto and Osaka.
