Sweet shrimp (amaebi), tuna (maguro), sea urchin (uni), red snapper (tai), mackerel (aji), and barbecue eel (unagi) are really good. Also salmon eggs (don't know what to call those in Jap).
Stay away from eggplant sushi (they actually have those in Japan to rip off the foreigners). I personally dislike octopus (tako) sushi because it's so hard to chew, but I guess it depends on your tastes.
Edit: Oh, and Salmon with raw onions and Japanese Mayo is delicious.
