The 2012 Republic of Korea legislative election will take place on April 11 and all 299 seats of the National Assembly are being contested! In the previous election the centre-right Grand National Party defeated the now-defunct Democratic Party and formed a majority government. The left-wing in Korea has been shattered and divided over the past 10 years, and it remains to be seen if the Democratic United Party can unify the left. It should be interesting to see if the GNP can keep their hold on the government or if the newly founded Democratic United Party can score their first electoral victory. Which party would you support and/or vote for in the upcoming election and why?
