I'm a little "odd" in real life to put it mildly, so initially I wasn't too surprised that my Chinese friends kept using 傻 to describe me. Lately, I've been wondering how I should be translating it to myself. The literal definitions are things like stupid or silly. While I am both of those, I would prefer to think that people aren't telling me that to my face

they could mean it in an endearing way as it is often used, it does mean silly but not necessarily in a bad way.
