So i was wondering what the natural progression through the game is now.

I have a tower setup for every type of char (roughly 500/500/300/300 for each)
and a DPS DT hunter (700/900/400/400) with a 220^ upped DT w/ a 122^ robot pet

I can do everything on insane fine, survivals/UMF etc

But I just can't seem to find better gear anymore, not even for my tower toons.


Ive beat 5 or 6 levels on nightmare and unlocked the survivals but i always get stomped on the second or third wave.

Where should I be farming for upped gear at this point?
And if anyone could post a setup that would be great

One of my friends found an awesome setup to beat the nightmare waves that include an app guardian because it gives so much more dmg, and then a huntress guardian (which I use to help him) and it gives so much more attack rate and it just rapes the ogres so much x)

So yea.. Guardians are a good investment if you're trying to beat more... Buut, otherwise I guess just keep trying? :/

Have you checked the myst map? Drops fairly good items. Also do the challengers which you can. I saw Ogre crush being soloed with similar stats to yours.

The real trick is to do spires/ramparts/summit on nightmare (assuming you can beat the first wave) and collect the chests. Even the 2nd wave chests will drop pretty legit myth gear. Even though it's kinda demoralizing, it's probably the easiest/quickest way to get pretty good sets of gear. Once you get 2-3 pieces of a set, you can check some shops to get the final piece to compete the set for the 30% bonus. Also, once your apprentice gets slightly better, you can do nightmare UMF (probably 2.0) and stack tons of towers in a corner to farm a few waves. You should be able to get to wave 10 with correct tower/aura placement but you can certainly get to wave 9 and collect 2 rounds of chests

and are app guardians really that good?

They can be, depending on how you use them. One trick that works pretty well is to camp a big spawn on your dps hero and use all DU to guard the other spawns. You can put a few dps towers/auras on your spawn area and let the app guardian + your dps demolish it. It should be considerably easier this way. Also, if you have a few decently gear friends (each preferably with an app guardian), each person can camp one choke point and you'll find that it's easy to get to wave ~15 on survival. At some point, the waves don't really get much harder, just more tedious

Also, just as a reminder, the maps are WAY easier with at least one extra person. Managing repairs/ogre spawns is almost impossible solo, at least until you've got substantial tower gear

Yes they are I have a app guardian with 51 boost and my towers do roughly 4x normal damage when they get boosted by it.
