Sry might be a silly question (100% is), but how does that work? To send gift cards you need to be friends for 3 days at least, so this wont be it, right? Or is it? How do all thise trades work?

you just add eachother on steam and wait 3 days before the trade, you can ask a mediator for a safe trade by following his instructions
mediator keep fgs of the seller and wait your pm confirming that you sent the gift card (take screenshot in case your trader prentend that you did not send anything)

that's all

if you're talking about steam wallet funds, be aware you can't buy gift cards with those. you can gift games with steam wallet though

either way you need to wait 3 days after adding the other guy

no - you can gift games immediately, but you need to wait for 3 days with gift cards.
but as you mentioned: you can NOT buy gift cards with steam wallet (which sucks)
