are you talking about quick play? if you're not in comp (between seasons) no one really gives a fuck, people play hyper agro and play whatever hero they feel like. so i don't know why that'd be surprising
also you generally get ranked with people around your skill in qp, but sometimes there can be some mix in skill
i hope you take what i say next serious cause you could probably benefit:
you hyper analyze your team's actions and negative aspects way too seriously, and you take quick play/ non comp games too serious and expect too much
i've read a few of your posts on here over the weeks and i feel like i've read the exact same shit every single time
it's usually along the lines of your team sucks, you have an explanation of everything that went wrong and why you lost, you're better than all of them etc.
i'm not trying to flame you so don't take it personal but it's pretty important and the sooner you accept it the faster you'll improve: if you were so much better than who you played with and focused on getting 2-3 heros in your comp games you would climb above them in a few days to a week ish, especially through plat. stop compulsively blaming solo q because that doesn't help you improve. everyone loses games because of trolls and thrower, it's the way it is.
it's important to analyze your game and observe what your team is doing/just did, and it helps to know why things went wrong so you can work to fix it. but once you figure it out and learn from it, just let it go and move on because you can't control every team you get. focus more on yourself and how to improve on everything you're doing. at any given moment in a game are you in a proper position for your hero doing what it is you need to do based on the game's circumstances? you won't always know. watch some pros/vod reviews and figure out the right answer and work from there.
yeah you will have games where you're better and your team goes full retard, getting caught up on it doesn't help. get a more positive attitude and stop being a compulsive blamer and worry about yourself because it's all you can change. right now your attitude is your biggest inhibitor.
about genji
unique play style and high ceiling, he takes a lot of time to get used to. go watch a youtube video with some pro giving basic tips about how to go about him, it'll help a lot. if they turn around and 4v1 you it's because your team isn't ready / didn't go in / aren't pressuring or creating any space. shoot from long range, be annoying and wait to go in when you won't get mass focused, find weak targets and get dash resets, find heros that are alone and easy pickoffs. sometimes there's only so much you can do but if you just started him don't expect to be carrying anyone. when you're good enough on him he can easily carry most games below 3k.
Eh the part about team sucking is absolutely true though. I'd provide clips but I don't care to do that.
I play as a team player. Random queue sucks though. It's so bad. You have no idea. I have allies that never use their ults, allies that will jump off the map by accident when no opponents are around, allies that ice wall the team in just as the opponent is pushing, allowing the entire enemy team to get extra ground on us as they approach point. I have allies who go zenyata who never once heal, allies who go rein and never once use their shield. Allies who never use rein's shield and charge in front of it. Allies who ask for healing, then you go to heal them, and they could easily help you kill that hero that is hitting you, but they get healed and run away from you while you get picked slowly but quick enough to not be able to retreat. So on and so forth. It's just horrid. In more than 50% of my games, I get at least 1 ally who will switch to widow or torb on attack, and essentially end up charging the opponents' ults, with no damage output, no aim, no ability.
Very rarely do I get a good team, but when I do and vote to stay with them, I tend to go 90-100% win ratio for the 2-5 games they stick together.
But what I'm seriously wondering: if a team is poor, isn't Genji a bad pick even on the pro-est of pros? Without proper heals, and frontline, there's no such thing as flanking... opponents can turn around and do what they need.
