Okay so since new WoW xpac came out I didn't play overwatch at all.

I finally got to the point on WoW where I'm just doing weekly shit and when people are on I do dungeons.

So I started getting back into OW.

I finished my placements and got plat, and I hit diamond yesterday currently at 3100.

Why is the reward for diamond only 1200 CP points?

The reward for rank 60 season 1 was 200 CP, which is more than half a golden weapon.

Are they essentially "nerfing" the rate at which you can get a golden weapon or was rank 60 higher than diamond last season?

60-65 was diamond last season basically so rewards nerfed I guess you could say that but the season is also longer . I think their idea is for the average good player to be able to get 1 gold gun a season.
