If you haven't played on console how you would know? I've played on both and at the same level at both (3.8k on cpu and 3.7k console) and see the same level of competitive play as both. The only major thing that ruins it for me on console is that people in the top tier use a mouse and keyboard which is a clear advantage over a controller. However I prefer to play it on console because after years of sitting at a desktop playing csgo I find it more relaxing to be able to play from my bed. That being said both are "the real game"
They're both competitive for their respective platform. Honestly there's 0 chance that a console gamer could compete against a PC gamer in a shooter. It's not possible with a controller. Go ahead and hook an xbox controller up to your PC and try to play comp
