such bs. Staring at numbers is a huge mistake 35% teams damage tells next to nothing.
Are you getting a lot of eliminations too? Does the enemy team have a dps that does 36% of THEIR teams damage?
The ranking system of winning and losing is perfect because you wouldn't ever be able to judge on numbers how well the teams played.
Get over this attitude and someday you might even gain rank.
Remember when you are "stuck" with someone you are the same skill level so you just have to have some self-critique and improve.
e: about the system judging invidual players and not just win / loss. Think about a situation where the enemy team quickly recons that you are the carrying factor
in your team and start using every ult on you and focus on you 6 man all the time. You won't have good numbers but you are getting them to waste everything on you by being good.
Lel. Obviously if I'm playing a flawless game I'm getting elims too. For example, this season, the game put me as low as 24xx and as high as 3500. There definitely wasn't over 1000 cups difference in my overall ability in the game, yet the system placed me in accordance to there being that much of a difference. Meaning I was either much higher than I should have been at one point or another or much lower than I should have been. This proves that I was somewhere I shouldn't have been yet the system put me there, which in itself works towards fucking everyone else rank up evern more because I wasn't where I was supposed to be in the first place. As someone whos been playing shooters competitively for 15 years on pc, I didn't just learn to aim halfway through the season to finally gain over 1k in rank points...
So me saying I'm stuck with people means I'm stuck with them or their stuck with me, no matter it shows a flaw in the system because theres people in places where they shouldn't be.
You make a good point about focusing the best player, if the ranking system worked, then there wouldn't be such a divide in talent on the team though and it would essentially mean theyre throwing the game by wasting 6 ults on one guy. If you play like crap but your team wins, I don't think any system would penalize you for that. A system should give more sr to people who did great on the winning team and a little less to people who were mediocre. And vice versa, take away more from people who leeched and lost and take away less from people who played a great game and were held back by a failure of team support or strategy.
Also, in a closely ranked matched where overall ability is relatively close, one player should never have 35% of teams dmg. A roadhog could literally spray a reinhardts shield throughout the entirety of the match and he still should not be getting 35% of teams dmg. When I decide to carry and auto lock DPS because I'm much lower in SR than I should be, and in 8/10 matches in a row im getting 35% or more of teams damage, theres a problem.
