it can be great but just gets abused at high mmr where you run into the same people a lot

who cares

isn't the distribution like 90% of the people in gold / plat anyway?

it's desperately needed in there, can just bring it back but make it not work over a certain rank or something

not really no, more like 30% are in plat 30% in gold 25% in silver 5-6% in diamond 2-3% master 1% grandmaster, not exact but that's pretty close.

Sadly there are still plenty of trash diamond players, people still don't understand counters and comps and just play who they feel. Can't tell you how many junk rats I've had against enemy zarya / genjis, how many hanzos vs Reinhart zarya combos

reinhardt/Zarya aren't exactly hanzo counters, only one tank counters hanzo and its winston and genji isn't a junkrat counter, the only thing you said that makes sense to me is playing junkrat vs zarya isn't the best idea typically but even then if your delaying pushes/putting out enough damage with kills to go along with it, a powered up zarya isn't going to to 1v6 your team. The only reason junk isn't played right now in the pro scene on at least first point defense on 50% of the map pool (like he has been every other patch even against zarya cause shes been meta since day 1) is because of the ana meta every bit of dmg he does to the tanks just feeds her ult even faster.

Soft counters /=/ Hard counters

The biggest issues i had in diamond were poor ult usage and poor understanding of when to contest and when to back off, wasn't often a hero selection issue or a issue with a player being bad mechanically.

Hanzo is one of the best at popping Reinhardt's shield from a distance
And he's definitely the best at capitalizing when the shield goes down

Going to have to disagree as reaper / pharah / junkrat are all much more viable options in my opinion and can work well with much more team comps.

As for the zarya argument above, of course she isn't going to 1v6 a team... But she damage mitigates and powers up much faster against an enemy junkrat she also baits his ult much better than any other champ as well. Making junkrat much more useless against her. Plus he is an easy target to pick wth her ULT because he usually is in the vincitity of his friendly supports.

But also I have seen plenty of junkrat in the pro scene, rogue mainly uses a junkrat in most payload maps... I'd say one tough thing that hurts junk is that tracer is making a big push back into the meta.

But ULT usage is still sorta shakey. Depending if the team talks. On Ps4 most randoms don't talk so no communication leads to very poor ults but it really depends because sometimes I'll find randoms with great communication so it's hit or miss

Junkrat is bad in Ana meta
Reaper normally doesn't break the shield at all so irrelevant to the discussion
Pharah is solid though

But none of those can kill when the Reinhardt shield goes down like a Hanzo
And his damage to shield is close to the same as Pharah

Hanzo into Reinhardt is perfectly fine..

Reaper is the best lurker in the game which is what makes him relevant. Not about breaking his shield obviously

Even if he is fine which I don't really believe I still see there are better options out there

you play on ps4 probably never even seen a good hanzo not sure they exist on console, same with widow. 1 good scatter puts the enemy reinhardt 1 shot if it doesn't kill him. Also Tracer/genji is the best "lurker" reaper plays with the team in the ana meta the majority of the time. As for the continued zarya/junk talks Junkrat has always been played against zarya in spots where he is good until the ana meta hit then his usage dropped to near 0 because hes essentially a roadhog now and just feeds the enemy team their main pushing ultimate.

side note, next one will see mei jump a TON probably b tier honestly at least c though, and mcree and or genji drop a tier probably. Judging from watching the overwatch open.
