My final thoughts having played the early access beta and open beta.
very impressed with a patch immediately after the early access weekend, this is another positive sign of the development team, communication to the player base and swift implementation and fixes following user feedback.
around 30 hours played over the open beta, now having played amazon, druid, paladin and barbarian to lvl 30

improvements made 2nd time around
1) Latency cut in half, originally sitting around 120-160ms (early access) 45-70ms (open beta) caveat, i am in Australia and this is pretty good considering it wasn't being run on a oceanic server.
2) crashing reduced by about 90 percent if i had to guesstimate.
3) very few bugs reported this time around, majority been fixed.

over-all the game is in a fantastic state, having read & participated through a bunch of the forum threads on the official D2R blizzard site, i really am worried about the discussion/debate around personal loot, personal loot ladders, destroying the item economy even more than you know what and destroying the trading community which is one of if not my favorite part of Diablo 2.

i really hope these changes do not go ahead almost a deal breaker for me if they do.
