I just successfully completed a 5 days SSF run from a compeltly new character to Uber Tristam with a Paladin but with a twist:

Using zeal as an attack. I did not use Blessed Hammer (not even while leveling) nor Smite (not even in Tristam).
The weapons I used were as follow : steel scimitar, black flail and then the game breaker for Uber Tristam : Malice Tyrant Club!

Holy Shock and Holy freeze were used along various other auras as you can see in the videos.

I was somewhat surprised to see that I could farm the Destruction Keys without Lawbringer.
My plan was to use lawbringer and holy shock and although I got a LEM I was never able to make KO.
I made a video to show some experimentation I did on the subject.

I never got any attack rating combos even if I farmed with mf gear in nightmare.
Turns out this might have been a blessing in disguise since Malice over performed :
Zeal targets different minions which can be a problem in Tristam but Malice get ubers bleeding no matter what.

I got awesome drops from killing Baal to proceed to Hell Diff and I think that it's what made this run successful.

Toughest part as a Shockadin: Maggot Lair is a teleport hell. Chaos sanctuary... ouch.
Looking back on this I think I should have transitioned to an hybrid frostadin at that point and used the tyrant club.
Life tap would have simplified the chaos sanctuary (switching from teleport staff/life tap wand as needed).
Something like:
20 zeal
20 sacrifice
20 holy freeze
0 to 5 holy shield ---> just drop more dex
1 salvation
Rest in resist cold

In the above post I meant redemption and not salvation.

Since I had some fun with zeal I decide to mess around a bit with Zealot a bit and threw a random Dual Dreams setup on a paladin.
Dracul + Grief makes you pretty much immortal as you can see in the video.

As I predicted in my SSF run with a zealot there is monster healing.
I was NOT using Malice and Baal is laughing at Zeal since the 25% open wounds from Dracul is not high enough to keep him bleeding.
Problem is Zeal targets random minions.
This setup does massacre all minions and is pretty safe.

Anyway had to smite him away : shameful!

Of course having more open wounds could be the solution.
Or more crushing blow to just end him quickly enough.
