Apparently posting in a thread that hasn't been posted in over 3 months is a no-no here. Original blog:

Yet another few months passing by without any woodworking but I have a couple of completed projects and one upcoming to post!
Our house has a side porch with an existing roof over it so we hired a sunroom company to wall it in. That was completed sometime October; the plan is to turn it into an extra TV room to enjoy on cool/warm days. The ceiling was entirely metal soffit planks that I had removed to reveal an 80s green painted plywood. I had a couple of ideas on how to redo the ceiling and went with buying a few 1/4 inch sheets of sanded plywood veneers; the sheets were ripped into 12 inch wide strips and glued/nailed into the ceiling along with some crown molding. Added a nice aesthetic for a pretty minimal cost. Previous ceiling was the same metal soffit as you see outside those windows.

A few weeks ago, I was commissioned by a friend to build her a cat condo similar to the one I built in the original blog. She wanted it as a Christmas present for her sister who has a couple of fat cats. The requests were to have the whole thing at 60" tall with a storage cubby, cat cubby, top shelf and a hammock. The finished product turned out pretty well and is built to accommodate larger cats. The picture doesn't really show how hammock-y it is but it goes deeper than it looks and is also able to fold up in case they need to transport it.

As I said about the sunroom, that will be an extra TV room so I'll be building a sliding barn door entertainment center that will hold the TV with 2 shelves on both sides. Sometime after Christmas, I'll start on building something pretty similar to this.

Fare thee well until then.
