Sometime in 2007, about the time The Burning Crusade came out, there was a weird conversation in guild chat. It was like 1- 3 am eastern time and I was on the Stonemaul server. Not many people were active. They were talking about Heath Ledger's death and how nobody could portray the Joker like he did. Heath Ledger died in 2008. How is it possible that they knew of his death? And how would they know that nobody could portray the joker like Heath Ledger?
Recently, Blizzard has announced that they are going to bring back vanilla WoW. Now that gets me thinking. Maybe those time travelers thought they went to a time which should be a year from now. Or maybe they got confused with the near future (2017-19) and 10 years ago (2007-08). Theoretically, if vanilla WoW comes back, then The Burning Crusade will come back. But there is another possibility. What if there is no future. What if the time travelers were only chatting in the past tense because they knew future events. That would indicate that for some reason the vanilla WoW servers don't exist in the future or maybe that it isn't worth playing. Hopefully, it is the latter. But, that does not dismiss the possibility of a catastrophic event happening in our near future. I'm not a doom and gloom person. I don't want to be correct in any of this.
Whatever the reason may be for their mishandling of things, it still happened.
I wish I had a screen shot but my mind was different back in the day. I know my story sounds crazy. However, do you really think time travelers would want to be known?
