I started to play Runescape Oldschool a few months ago (2 months ago..?)
It's quite funny why and how but I guess I'll explain that in a further post one day.

I was thinking about making such a blog about it, but never took the time.
Since something happened this morning... I'll start right now I guess?

Part I - Kitten

During my adventures and quests, I ended up with a kitten, after rescuing him, his mother and siblings.

From that point I kept it roaming around for fun, petting it, having it purr, feeding him some fish that he liked a lot.

I somewhat needed it through some quests also, either his advice - yes.. I spoke to him as well, *catspeak amulet* .. I'd need one in real life too -
He ended up playing key roles in many adventures.

I got used to his :love:

small cute face :love:

, and, also liked his big fully grown cat.

This all to ended up, on this morning...

For a quest, I sent him fight and kill a dangerous rat, in a small room I couldn't access by myself
(....which is stupid. I coulda easy break in, but you know, games rules...)

In order to keep him alive through the whole fight, I had to give him fish through the hole in the wall
(eating instantly heals in this game)

I knew that, to feed him (and heal him), I had to click on the "hole in the wall"
But as the game is.. let's say.. a little outdated in many ways...

It was a big hole, big enough for me to, apparently, click directly on the ground other side of the hole, in the other room.....
thus NOT on the specific element the game considers as the "hole in the wall"

The only way to correctly feed him, was, apparently, clicking ON THE CORNERS of the walls, near the hole....
It was not mentioned in guides, and I could not realize it when I tested before
(right clicking.. for those who know the game..)

It became clear only way after everything was over that a few pixels of distance could bring a total different result
(I had to test and test over and search how and why what happened happened)

Long story short....

It's been ~1 minute of stress, seeing his life bar go down slowly, during which I managed to feed him correctly once or twice...
...until it does no work anymore, as explained above.

A few seconds later, his hit points went down to 0, he felt down, a spirit came out of his body to disappear in the air,
while the chat log displayed "Your cat has passed out"

That's it. NOTHING else. After searching around, reading, checking what I could do...
No revive, no burials, no ceremony, no in-game system to acknowledge his presence nowhere at all.
Just suddenly the possibility to "buy a new kitten" from that lady whose cats I rescued and gave me that kitten long ago....
