I’m reminiscing about my past and what I have to offer for everyone who is ready to embark in my journey. Our journey, together. We are all searching for something in this world and in this lifetime. I find myself searching to become a better person. I find myself searching for the strength my soul needs to reach its ultimate form. I see others as I see myself and I try to put myself in someone else’s shoes because ultimately that’s how you learn more about yourself...

When I was in high school, I was told to always get good grades because soon after I will be in college, I will be in a “successful” career. My mind was set on becoming a police officer, I wanted to help people. I began realizing who I want to become. Being a police officer wont achieve that. I wanted to change the world and help those around me. To achieve something that great would mean to overcome failures I was yet to succeed in. And so, slowly I got out of the phase of becoming apart of the law. I thought acting would be great because I could give my money to charities or better yet I could create my own charity. Again, I was envisioning my dream on a broader scale. I failed to become a police officer, I failed to become an actor. I’m glad I did, it brought me clarity. I now see what the future holds for me. All it takes is one step.

Wake up. Its 0700 hours. Put on your shoes, put on your jacket and eat breakfast because today’s the day you suffer. We all go through hard times, we all endure from procrastination and laziness. Sometimes no matter how hard we push and no matter how tough it gets, we slowly give in. Do not.

They say the best way to improve yourself is discipline. Consistently doing whatever it may be over time, whether it be for a short amount of time a day and continuously going at it will benefit you immensely. In our society there are many people who doubt themselves and never dare to feel uncomfortable. Being in an unpleasant state brings out the most in you. When we feel uncomfortable our senses retreat and we tend to be afraid of the outcome because when we surpass our intentions and our goals, it brings out something we never felt, naturally we find ourselves backing off. At this point we want to accept the unpleasantness, we want to able to agree with how we feel because being uncomfortable is the best way to improve yourself. No one ever achieves anything without being uncomfortable, you have to understand in life, we transcend best with our backs against the wall.

There are many powers you need to adopt for yourself to succeed in life. One of the great powers you will ever need to attain is by appreciating those who are around you. Our greatest gift we could ever give someone is by being a great listener. We tend to view our own wants and our own needs, especially when we talk to another person. Everyone has the same mentality, but those who are great are the ones who take time and carefully listen to the other persons ideas and philosophies. Attaining this power will not only help you succeed but as well make others believe you are genuinely there for them.

About a week ago, my girlfriend and I were on the topic of each others futures. She noticed that I always start off my sentences with “when”, and she also noticed herself starting off sentences with “if”. I took notice of this, and soon realized that I never do say “if” something will happen. I’m always thinking about when it’s going to happen and how I will get there. Think about that for a moment. Do you say “If I get a new promotion?” And soon do you realize the implications of this negative trait? Why don’t we say “when I get a new promotion”. Why must we always say “If”. Let that sink in for a minute. Think about all the people you know, and who have achieved what they wanted, and again think about all the people you know that haven’t achieved what they wanted. Then try to compare the two. Have a talk with each of them and ask them questions — you’ll soon realize the difference; one of them will use the word “when” and the other will use the world “if”.

We all go through it, every single day. We go through distractions and procrastinations. Stuff that will decline you from your goals, the bad stuff. We never find ourselves searching for disturbances, it always comes around. I get distracted a lot. It is fine, but most of the time I don’t finish what I want to accomplish and I always think rationally about how I would’ve got it done in the time I was distracted.
