I've been working out and watching my weight since the start of the year. I have been pretty good with it, but get side tracked and don't really hold myself accountable all of the time. I wanted to make a blog where I have to report in everyday to make myself more accountable. I have a gym membership and I will going there to lift, walk/run and shoot hoops with each "workout" being AT LEAST 30 minutes. I'm not trying to train for strongman here, but just stay active/healthy as possible. I work an office job Monday through Friday so for 6-7 hours a day I'm sitting on my ass (I get up and walk around quite often so I didn't say 8-9 hours). I worry about my health with my sedentary lifestyle so I'm doing something about it.

When I'm not at the gym I will be doing other forms of activity like things outside (cutting grass/yard-work, hauling, fixing stuff/etc.) and errands/misc. tasks (doing stuff for family, etc.). The simple goal is to remain active as much as possible. My overall goal/big goal is to lose 15-20 pounds and get myself down to about 240 pounds. I'm currently around 260 pounds right now with a huge beer belly! I would like to see myself at 240 by summer at the latest.

So, if you plan to follow don't expect nothing too crazy here; this is more for my personal tracking and an effort to get myself logging my shit every day (besides the weekends). I like my alcohol so that's my biggest opponent right now. I'll also be tracking how much I drink just for the hell of it. As it stands today I gave up beer for Lent (Catholic religion) so I'll be drinking wine and mixed drinks only. I could stop drinking entirely but I also don't want to commit suicide (#drinker)!

Note: I am also tracking my calories via MyFitnessPal as well which gives me 2,700 calories per day to eat (will be starving daily which sucks). My TDEE is around 3,100 calories per day so I'm shooting for at least 100 calories under that every day. Ain't going to be easy because on a normal day when I wasn't dieting it was normal for me to eat 4,000 calories/day...I'm a big boy.

All comes down to discipline for me. LET'S GO!!

Date of workout: 1/23/16

I got either food poisoning/flu bug this past weekend and was literally down for the count for 3 days. I'm also experiencing an issue with my left leg (mainly calf area) going numb so definitely monitoring that. Excuses, excuses...I know.

Activity: Gym - treadmill
* Walked 43 minutes on the treadmill with an average speed of 3.5 MPH. Burned 354 calories while walking 2.5 miles.

Current Weight: 258
* This was taken after my workout, in the afternoon, so not the best measurement. I would normally say -2 pounds from this number and you have my real weight in the morning.

Calorie Intake: 2,253
* Protein = 123, Carbs = 236, Fat = 80

Date of workout: 1/25/16

Didn't get a chance to workout 1/24 because I had to attend a funeral. Today was a solid workout though, very happy with myself. What happened after...another story.

Activity: Lifting (free weights) + treadmill
* Did 3x set BB bench press, 3x set DB flat press, 3x set DB shoulder press, 5x set DB curls, 3x set machine curls (very unorthodox regimen - just trying to ease myself into a solid routine)
* Walked 35 minutes on the treadmill with an average speed of 3.5 MPH. Not sure on calories or miles - was on a different treadmill I didn't know how to work.

Current Weight: UNK
* Didn't weigh myself.

Calorie Intake: N/A
* Didn't track my food. Besides the 4 slices of pizza after I got home from the bars (damn carbs)...was a normal good eating day. We'll call today my "cheat" day.

Alcohol Intake: 2x Redbull + vodka 12 oz'ers, 4x diet Coke + Jack whiskey 8 oz'ers
* Thirsty Thursday for me. I also shot some darts with an average of about 35. Started with a 25 (ew - lifting arm)/30/41 -> 32 average. My 4th game was like a 34-36 (forget) with my final game being a 38. Love playing darts - just don't get to play that often.
