Doors are interesting won't you say? I mean the conventional door which separates room from lobby from street to river and so and so forth and vice versa.
Well as adults it is known common sense to have doors to separate individual spaces which one can use as gateways to another space. Now what particular interest me is the door handle, the ones which are circular, round in shaped and require a certain grip to turn. Bear with me.
I required little effort to grip hold of the handle to open the door, but that's not interesting. What interested me was the child attempt to open it, how they struggled holding onto the knob, using most their energy, whereas kicking the door, grabbing hold of the handle, rotating the handle left to right and finally puffing up in a tantrum then finally calling mum, hm its always mum for some reason.
There was no way that door was going to be easily opened due to the design of the handle, which firstly you needed to apply a certain amount of force to grip the handle and then having accomplished that you need to rotate it clockwise and then pull towards yourself, yes its those doors that open inwards. The child motive was they wanted to be close to their mother and a door was in the way which was closed. The child did their best to open that door and yet it was still closed. Whoever invented the door handle, pretty sure it was intended to be that way. Problem is how long will it take for that child to realise some doors to be left alone, some doors can be opened with a certain determination and some doors require help from lets say people who have already opened the door. Now clever as inventors are, they add a lock which require a key, how many times can one say they lost their key to have the child find it? fantastic news that will be...
