So this is going to be my blog where I document some of my accomplishments in Stepmania/Open ITG. I'll probably put the best accomplishment/records on the first post and I'll post the best score/s from that day.
This game is same as "DDR" but with more customizations and such that DDR/ITG did not offer.
For this thread, I'll be focused on the vanilla gameplay where the sole objective is to get the highest score(Music synchro ratio). No other modifiers except speed, noteskin, hide background, and occasionally music rate will be used.
I'll try to log my keystrokes per session of stepmania. Usually I'll play stepmania for around 1 hr per day.

Here's the calculation for finding notes per second:
Beats per second = BPM/60
Notes per second = beats per second * notes notes per beat (e.g. 4 for 16ths)
To convert an NPS to a BPM given a note interval, do this:
Beats per second = notes per second / notes per beat
BPM = Beats per second * 60

Example: Air has 178 BPM.
For this thread I'll only calculate NPS for 16th streams and 24th streams(or equivalent)
BPS = 178/60 = 2.966
NPS = 2.966 * 4(16th stream) = 11.866 NPS.
Therefore, during 16th streams in the song "Air" with 178 BPM, I am hitting the arrows at approximately 11.866 notes per second.

240 BPM runs = 16 notes per second during 16th stream(which this song has plenty of)


240 BPM runs and 24th bursts. Pain in the ass to get a good score


First keyboard chart SS.
188 BPM. Fairly easy.


Another keyboard chart
175 BPM. No 16th streams. All 12th note streams. So 8.75 notes per second with semi-difficult patterns. If anything, the purple notes hurt my eyes more than my hands.

OMG! I passed Myriagon! this song has 176 bpm 16th jump jackhammers which means two fingers must hit two keys at 11.733 notes per second. It's very small streams of it, maybe 8-10 note bursts. Still a pain in the ass to beat.
