I've been on this site for the better part of 5 years now and have never had an avatar so I decided to look into it. At first I didn't know how and wasn't even sure what to google to get started. I knew I wanted a GIF and that it were possible, having seen so many of my friends with theirs. But rather ask for help, I decided to figure that shit out on my own.

This is what I did:

First I figured out what type of GIF I wanted. There are a few good sites that can help with this such as http://giphy.com/ or sites like http://www.funnyordie.com/ or The Chive (http://thechive.com/)

Secondly I needed to get the avatar size down to 52,000 Bytes as per the limitations that JSP has set forth. So here's where it began to get tricky -- what sites were available out there to re-size and recreate some of my favorite ones?

I stumbled across this little gem (http://ezgif.com/) and just followed the basic instructions. If you've ever uploaded an image to imgur or FB before than you can certainly figure it out.

After you right click and copy the image URL from the GIF you want on the website of your choosing, go to EZGIF.com and paste the image URL there. It will ask you what you want to do. Simply click re-size or crop and begin to craft the perfect GIF.

I hope that helps others who may be in the same spot as me and doesn't want to look like an idiot and ask someone else. I did this for you bro, I did this for you.

Cheers,
